Alcaraz Helps Pull Young Struggling Fan From Crowd And Hands Him An Autograph
In addition to being one of the best players in the world, Carlos Alcaraz is a charming athlete off the court.
Regardless of his circumstances on the court, the charming Spaniard plays with a smile nearly all the time. He is such a kind guy off the court that even opposing coaches and players are in awe of him.
Recently, at the Madrid Open, Alcaraz showed off his class and the affection of the fans as he went for a three-peat and received a hero’s welcome. The 20-year-old brightened a young boy’s day in exchange.
After what appeared to be the conclusion of his practice, the two-time reigning champion was being led from the Caja Magica when a wave of fervent home supporters gathered at the entrance, hoping to get an autograph.
A teenage supporter was having difficulty obtaining an Alcaraz souvenir when the World No. 3 and a member of his coaching staff happened to notice him. Three security officers wheeled the kid away from the steel wall to see his idol, and Alcaraz assisted in identifying him.
On his towel, Alcaraz signed his name and left a note for the young admirer. The boy’s tears were quickly replaced with a cheeky smile as they posed for a selfie.
Alcaraz has run into one of his fans following a drill on previous occasions. While training at the Monte-Carlos Masters this year, he gave his wristband to a tennis fan.
Alcaraz was not fully recovered from a forearm injury when he entered this year’s Madrid Open, only a few days away from his 21st birthday. Two of the most important races leading up to Roland Garros, Monte Carlo and Barcelona, he has already missed.
In front of a raucous crowd at Manolo Santana Stadium, he began his championship defense against Alexander Shevchenko of Kazakhstan on Friday night, where he is ranked as the second seed in Madrid.
