JUST IN: James Cook, a conspiracy theorist, cites a hidden motive for the dishonest CFP Committee’s Alabama decision.

James Cook, a former running back for Georgia, openly criticized the College Football Playoff committee for selecting Alabama over his Bulldogs and a 13-0 Florida State squad.
According to him, the Crimson Tide was selected for an impending trip off the field rather than for their performance on it.
Cook claims that the committee gave famous head coach Nick Saban an early retirement gift since they were aware of his impending retirement.
Early in the season, Alabama looked unworthy of a spot in the national championship game after losing at home to Texas and playing mediocrely against weaker opponents.
Many believed that Saban would be fired this season, not because of his performance on the field but rather because he appeared completely worn out while in charge of a failing team lacking an offensive identity.
However, the season changed in the middle.
After being appointed the starting quarterback, Alabama’s direction changed as quarterback Jalen Milroe grabbed the bull by the horns. Eight SEC games were won by the Tide, five of which were decided by double digits.
After upsetting Georgia in the conference final, the club cemented its top status in the league.
That triumph was sufficient to send Nick Saban and his Alabama team into the College Football Playoffs. For the last place, the Tide upset Georgia—a club that had never lost once in three seasons—and undefeated FSU.
James Cook thinks he knows why.
And no, it had nothing to do with Alabama defeating the Dawgs in the head-to-head matchup or Jordan Travis’ injury.
Instead, he thinks that the CFP committee was trying to give Nick Saban a final straw because they were aware of his retirement plans in advance.
Cook has connections to both abandoned projects. While his older brother Dalvin was a Seminoles standout, he attended UGA.
Regarding the subject, he is by no means the only conspiracist; however, the majority think it has more to do with TV ratings and possible SEC bias.
In any case, Georgia and Florida State were relegated to the Orange Bowl to play for consolation while Alabama advanced to the postseason. It’s evident that supporters of college football are still thinking about the choice.
