Regardless matter whether Southampton’s efforts to gain promotion to the Premier League are successful or not, they will require a successful summer transfer market.
The Saints will obviously need to bolster their roster if they are promoted in order to remain competitive in the elite division.
If they don’t improve, though, they could have to fortify themselves in order to compete better the following season.
If they stay in the Championship, they might also need to replace important players who are taken from Russell Martin’s team.
Prior to the summer transfer window, Southampton has a fresh target in mind.
Southampton competes with Premier League teams to sign a midfield player.
Southampton is reportedly eager to sign Callum O’Hare, an offensive midfielder for Coventry City, during the summer transfer season, according to a report from The Sun.
At the end of this season, the 25-year-old’s contract with his present club expires. Consequently, in the summer, he might be available on a free transfer.
Southampton is believed to be eager to sign O’Hare when he becomes available, for that reason, and to bring him to St Mary’s.
It seemed the Saints had a strong interest in him back in January. However, O’Hare is reported to have been eager to watch how things would work out with the Sky Blues at that moment.
Coventry City, on the other hand, has extended an offer to the midfield player and is still hoping to retain him.
That’s in spite of the player’s apparent declaration that he intends to leave in the summer.
Southampton is not the only team vying for the Sky Blues star, though. Everton and Fulham of the Premier League are rumored to have expressed interest in O’Hare.

If Southampton could complete this, it would be a truly good piece of business.O’Hare has been playing exceptionally well for Coventry City ever since he returned from injury in October.
In 24 games across all competitions this season, the 25-year-old has contributed four assists and nine goals to his tally.
O’Hare has already been called “incredible” by Coventry City manager Mark Robins this season.
Therefore, if Southampton could close this deal, they would be adding a very valuable player to their roster.
The Premier League’s level of interest in O’Hare does, in fact, underscore what a coup it would be for the Saints to complete this transaction.
That also implies that Southampton’s chances of acquiring the midfield player are likely to depend on their own success in winning promotion this season.
