Nathan Jones, the manager of Charleston, praised the “experience and quality” of recently signed player Connor Wickham. After making an impression during a two-week trial, the 30-year-old striker signed a contract with the League One Addicks that would last until the end of the season. Wickham progressed through the Ipswich ranks, making his debut at the age of 16, and was highly anticipated as a potential England international before agreeing to an £8 million move to Sunderland in the Premier League in 2011.
