JUST IN:Alex Caruso on being added to the player pool for Team USA
Alex Caruso, the guard for the Chicago Bulls, has had an incredible career. He started out as an undrafted player out of Texas A&M, won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, and has developed into one of the league’s finest defenders. Being a part of Team USA is now another achievement Caruso can list on his portfolio.
Caruso is a member of the USA team that will compete in the Tokyo Olympics in 2024. Due to the presence of the NBA’s greatest talents, the 6-foot-5 guard’s prospects of making the 12-member roster are limited, but Caruso expressed his excitement and optimism for the possibility.
With a terrific season thus far for the Bulls, the 29-year-old is averaging 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. In addition, he has improved as a three-point shooter, making 42% of his long-range attempts.
thrilling journey
There will be fierce competition for spots on Team USA, with 40 other highly motivated NBA players fighting for spots. Caruso, though, considers it a dream come true to represent his nation in international competition.
