For their FA Cup quarterfinal matchup with Coventry City on Saturday, Wolverhampton Wanderers has made two changes.
Head coach Gary O’Neil was evasive in the lead-up to the game at Molineux regarding the availability of Pedro Neto, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, and Matheus Cunha. Cunha may be able to rejoin the team after returning to full training following a hamstring injury.
But due to Bellegarde’s and Neto’s injuries from last weekend, O’Neil only makes the two changes for the game against the Sky Blues, meaning all three players miss it.
Tommy Doyle enters the middle, and Toti Gomes goes back to the back three. O’Neil abandons the defensive four he employed against Fulham.
Because Craig Dawson is still sidelined due to a groin injury, Santiago Bueno stays in the defense and Nathan Fraser leads the line for the second straight game.
Up to five Wolves players who are on the bench as substitutes have never started a game for the first team.
Mark Robins, the manager of Coventry, has also made two changes to the starting lineup from the 2-1 victory over Watford.
Both Liam Kelly and Victor Torp are placed on the replacements’ bench; the latter has been cleared to play despite appearing to have suffered a hamstring problem at Vicarage Road.
Milan van Ewijk returns to the right wing-back position, Josh Eccles takes over in central midfield, and Ben Sheaf is recalled following his almost six-week layoff due to injury sustained against the Hornets.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sarabia; Fraser; Gomes, Semedo, M. Lemina, Doyle, Ait-Nouri; S. Bueno, Kilman, Toti;
Subs: Holman, Barnett, Chirewa, Chiwome, N. Lemina, H. Bueno, Bentley, Traore, Doherty, and Chiwome
Collins, Latibeaudiere, Kitching, Van Ewijk, Eccles, Sheaf, Bidwell, Palmer, Simms, Wright, and Coventry City
Subs: Andrews, O’Hare, Godden, Wilson, Binks, Dasilva, Torp, Kelly, and Tavares
