A retired NBA veteran has strongly criticized the 76ers in response to reports of the team’s interest in acquiring All-Star forward Paul George.

The Philadelphia 76ers have set their sights on a bold objective for the upcoming season: enticing Paul George to join their ranks after his five-year tenure with his hometown team. While the path to achieving this goal is undoubtedly challenging, both fans and analysts have already pegged the 76ers as front-runners to secure the All-Star’s signature if he opts to leave the Clippers.

Envisioning a trio comprised of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George, the team could boast one of the league’s most formidable lineups, potentially propelling them to new heights, provided they maintain good health. However, it appears that not everyone within the organization shares the enthusiasm for Philadelphia to become George’s next destination.

Former NBA Veteran blasts 76ers, Paul George amid rumored pursuit

Evan Turner, who had a four-year stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, seems to harbor reservations about the idea of Paul George becoming the focal point for the team. In a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast, Turner didn’t shy away from taking a jab at both the All-Star and Joel Embiid.

While Evan Turner’s podcasting ventures have often featured questionable takes, it’s worth noting his prior experience as Paul George’s teammate during their time together with the Indiana Pacers in the 2013-14 season. However, Turner’s perspective may be tainted by his own experiences, particularly his involvement in the Pacers’ decline during that period, for which he was sometimes blamed.

Given Turner’s mixed track record and limited playoff success, his opinions on George and the 76ers may not carry significant weight. Ultimately, whether George joins the 76ers or not, many believe he would be an excellent addition to the team.
