A former Hibs player laments the “inconsistencies” of the current team in the top six race and claims the club has “turned the corner.”

Paul McGinn, a former Hibee, thinks that his old club has “turned a corner” in their Scottish Premiership campaign. Hibs have been enjoying a comeback in form over the past month.

Having joined the Steelmen in 2022, he currently plays for Motherwell. During his three seasons with Hibs, which spanned from 2020 to 2022, McGinn, 33, made 70 league games and scored six goals.

McGinn stated, “The top six was a bit of a long shot for us (Motherwell),” in an interview with the Daily Record. However, we haven’t been reliable enough this season to even justify that.

“We need to win a few games and ensure that we are competitive in the league before anything else. Ideally, we would win the next three games and hope for some good fortune, but it appears that Hibs have turned the corner and even Dundee, who are currently in seventh place, can pose a threat.”

“I’m hoping we react better than they do, because St. Mirren had a bit of a sore one,” he said. Stephen Robinson won’t allow them to walk away from such a favorable situation and remain unresponsive. We must ensure that we do not start slowly again, as we did against Aberdeen, because they will come flying out. I believe that we will be fine if we don’t start like that again.

Hibs went winless in the Premiership earlier this year, from December 4 to February 24. But since defeating Dundee on February 24, they have gone undefeated in the league. Even though Easter Road still needs a lot of work, things seem a lot more optimistic than they were two months ago. Now that Kilmarnock is only six points behind them, they are once again in the running for a berth in the top four.
