Italian media have been closely tracking the future of Victor Kristiansen, who is currently on loan at Bologna from Leicester City.
His impressive performances under Thiago Motta in Serie A have garnered strong interest, with the club seriously considering exercising the pre-agreed €15m option to buy in his contract.
Initially, the idea of purchasing Kristiansen and reimbursing Leicester appeared daunting in the early stages of the season. However, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday, there has been a notable shift in sentiment.
Motta is reportedly highly impressed by Kristiansen’s recent displays, as well as his dedication and attitude. These factors are said to be prompting Bologna to seriously contemplate securing him permanently.
While the €15m price tag remains significant for Bologna, there is a changing perspective regarding Kristiansen’s future. His recent performance against Atalanta has further strengthened the belief that he can and should be integrated into their long-term plans.
The only area where he lacks is in his goal-scoring ability, a point acknowledged by both Kristiansen and Motta. It’s a skill he aims to develop in the future.
Having already solidified his defensive skills, the manager now seeks a significant offensive contribution from Kristiansen. The upcoming match against Inter Milan provides the perfect opportunity to showcase proficiency in both aspects of his game.
Leicester will be keeping a close eye on the situation, as an additional €15m would certainly be welcomed. This is particularly notable for a player who previously appeared to struggle with the demands of Enzo Maresca.
