After missing out on the £15.5 million talent last year, Leeds United may now see him sign for Chelsea.

Milos Kerkez, a former target of Leeds United, may now join Chelsea after making an impression in his debut campaign with Bournemouth.

Leeds United paid Barcelona to acquire Junior Firpo, a new left back, in 2021.
Although Firpo was viewed as a significant acquisition, he performed inconsistently in the Premier League.

As a result, in January 2023, Leeds was linked to adding a left back as Jesse Marsch attempted to keep the team afloat.

In the end, Max Wober showed up to rejoin Marsch, giving him the option to play center back or left back.

Although Leeds considered other options, one target from January 2023 might seem like the one that slipped through the cracks at this point.

Leeds United showed interest in Milos Kerkez.
According to a talkSPORT report from January 2023, Leeds was interested in signing AZ Alkmaar’s Milos Kerkez.

It was hinted that Leeds desired to challenge Leicester City and Bournemouth for Kerkez.
Leeds was supposed to pay £15 million, but they chose not to, and as a result, they were demoted to the Championship.

As a result, Kerkez signed with Bournemouth, where he has performed well this season, eliminating Leeds from the running for his services.

Reporter Ben Jacobs suggested this week that Manchester United and Chelsea would be interested in signing Kerkez in an interview with The United Stand

The 20-year-old Hungarian international has already made an impression in the Premier League and is considered a top left back for the future.

Leeds might take a slight hit if Kerkez ends up making a big move this summer.

It’s never easy to lose out on a gifted player, but it’s especially difficult to watch him depart for a large sum of money after just 18 months.

Leeds may have lost out on Kerkez, so the Whites will just need to hope that other teams can find players with his caliber of play, especially if they are promoted back to the Premier League.
