After the heartbreaking series loss to the Nuggets for the Lakers, “Fire Ham” became viral.

After losing the series in five games to the Nuggets, the Lakers are reportedly going to fire their head coach. LeBron James of the Lakers has completed the fastest departure from the NBA Playoffs history.

Ham and the Lakers

The Lakers’ season came to an incredibly dismal conclusion in the Nuggets series. In this postseason series, the club was actually up for the most of the games, but they were only able to win one. After the defeat, Ham was requested to consider his tenure as the team’s coach.

According to ESPN, Ham remarked, “My mind’s all over the place right now, so that’s a great question, but maybe at some point I’ll give you an answer.” But I will tell you, it has been an extremely difficult two years. It’s been an incredible two years, sitting in this chair. Many excellent things were accomplished, but in the end, you want to take home the grand prize. I’ve experienced that firsthand. That was a feeling I experienced a few times.

Therefore, you want to use every effort to avoid and sustain this sense of defeat that we are currently experiencing. So once more, let me take charge of what I can manage, keep developing, and ideally become a better coach.

The atmosphere on the Lakers sideline seemed tense at times in this series. Lakers star LeBron James seemed to yellat times during Game 5 at Ham. There is speculation James might leave the team, to play somewhere else before he decides to retire. The Lakers are also supposedly interested in bringing James’ son Bronny to the club, so that the two can play in Los Angeles together. Ham may not be able to survive what comes next, but that will likely be answered soon.

The Lakers coach has a 90-74 record in the regular season, after completing two seasons in Los Angeles. His playoff record is a frustrating 9-12, which is definitely unacceptable to Lakers fans. Ham was an assistant coach on the Milwaukee Bucks when it won the NBA championship in 2021.
