“Now that it’s official I will leave the Blues this summer, I would like to thank everyone who’s been involved in my time at the club, staff and players past and present as well as ALL the managers,” Roberts wrote in an Instagram post following the Blues’ confirmation of his departure.

“Our time together has been memorable despite some turbulence. I can guarantee you that we have played football together for far longer than seven years.

“Even if it didn’t end like anyone would have preferred, I have loved every second of representing this club anytime I have gone over the line. I’m pretty sure the club is headed for a very bright future under the current ownership. Hopefully, everyone involved will have a much brighter future.

“To my wife and family, I would like to express my gratitude for your unwavering support over the years and for helping me through difficult times. We moved down here together, just the two of us, and we are leaving with a beautiful family (complete with two little brummies).”
