LSU TIGER
Angel Reese inspirational statement on embracing challenges as a rookie in the WNBA.
Angel Reese, the former star player for LSU, was selected by the Chicago Sky with the seventh overall choice in Monday night’s WNBA draft, so she didn’t have to wait long to make an impression.
Embracing the significance of the occasion, Reese and LSU coach Kim Mulkey shared a touching moment amidst the enthusiasm. Reese elaborated on her decision to forgo her last year of eligibility at LSU in favor of entering the WNBA at her news conference.
“I wanted to grow more personally,” Reese said. I had the urge to restart. I’ve been on a high since we won the national title, but I long for a new beginning.
Once more, I relish the difficulties that come with being a novice. I can’t wait to absorb knowledge from seasoned pros, overcome hardship, and come out on top.
I am excited to play in this intensely competitive league with and against incredible talent. I love a good competitive environment and the chance to compare myself to the best.
