Despite spending just a single season at Tennessee before transferring to Arizona in December, defensive back Jack Luttrell has quickly become one of the most prominent social media figures in college football. Boasting 222,000 followers on TikTok, Luttrell is further diversifying his NIL endeavors through a recent collaboration with American Eagle.
As a high school recruit, Luttrell earned a three-star rating from 247 and received offers from multiple SEC and ACC programs. Reflecting on his collaboration with American Eagle, Luttrell expressed his long-standing admiration for the brand, citing its trendy styles and comfortable clothing as key factors.
Platforms like TikTok have become instrumental for student-athletes in securing NIL deals. While there isn’t a direct correlation between social media following and NIL opportunities, Luttrell acknowledges the significance of his substantial TikTok following in attracting brand partnerships. He attributes brands’ interest in working with him to the genuine and authentic nature of his content.
Having been an active user of TikTok since high school, Luttrell recognized its potential for aiding in NIL opportunities upon entering college. With guidance from his management team, he focused on growing his social media presence and aligning with brands that resonated with him, all while maintaining authenticity in his content.
Partnering with American Eagle marks Luttrell’s first collaboration with an apparel brand, a fitting opportunity as he enjoys sharing both fashion and sports content. He appreciates the creative control granted by the brand, allowing him to maintain authenticity in his campaigns. Luttrell values the importance of dressing well for various occasions, including class, team events, and games, making the partnership with American Eagle a natural fit.
Koschitzki emphasized the brand’s commitment to facilitating a seamless partnership process for their brand partners and agencies.
As he begins his journey at Arizona, Luttrell eagerly anticipates showcasing his talents both on and off the field in the desert. Expressing his enthusiasm for the school and football program, he is determined to demonstrate his capabilities as a player at the collegiate level.
