As Spring Ball progresses, the new coaching staff of the Arizona Wildcats has begun to settle in.

After doing an excellent job of keeping the team together, they have increased their activity and aggressiveness in the recruiting process.

The first pledge of Brent Brennan’s 2025 recruiting class made his decision public on Sunday, demonstrating the results of those efforts.

Tight end Kellan Ford, a 3-star prospect from Northern California, committed to the Wildcats on Sunday night.

Playing for Danville, California’s Monte Vista High School, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Ford is a legitimate two-way player for the Mustangs. His lengthy arms and build enable him to catch passes when playing offense and gain separation when playing defense. He also demonstrates respectable route running and speed. That is not a problem right now because he still has plenty of room on his frame to gain more muscular mass.

According to 247’s internal and composite rankings, Ford has a 3-star rating. He ranks as the 36th best tight end, the 60th greatest player in California, and the 732nd best player overall in the CR.

He has received ten offers for recruitment. Ford passed on Oregon State, Boston College, Washington, California, and Washington State in favor of Arizona.

Ford’s junior campaign also had some degree of success. Despite his ability to play both ways, Matt Adkins, the tight end coach at Arizona, wants to see him more often on the offensive end of the ball. With that, Ford finished his junior season with 294 yards and 4 touchdowns on 25 catches.
