Arizona football transfers: Wildcats’ portal departures with Jedd Fisch out

Now that Jedd Fisch has officially left for Washington and his replacement, Brent Brennan, has moved from San Jose State, it is possible that the Arizona Wildcats are trying to prevent players from departing through the portal.

In early January, Fisch stated on Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo that he anticipated the return of 17 out of 22 starters, along with a large number of players from the two-deep rotation.

Quarterback Noah Fifita, who won the Football Writers Association of America Offensive Freshman of the Year award, and sophomore receiver Tetairoa McMillan were among them.

However, things in Tucson are altered when defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen leaves to accept a co-DC position with the Texas Longhorns, followed by Fisch’s exit and his hiring of the remaining staff members to join him with the Huskies.

The following is a running total of Arizona players that Brennan needs to either replace or recruit through the transfer portal:

RB Jonah Coleman from Washington amassed 871 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns.

CB Ephesians Prysock from Washington recorded 64 tackles, defended seven passes, and intercepted one.

CB Tacario Davis notched 25 tackles, defended 15 passes, and secured one interception.

DL Isaiah Ward made 30 tackles, tallied four sacks, and forced two fumbles.

DL Tiaoalii Savea from Texas contributed with 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

DL Russell Davis recorded 17 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

LB Anthony Ward contributed with one tackle, two punt returns for 25 yards, and scored one touchdown.

CB Jordan Shaw transferred to Arizona from Indiana in December, joining Washington.

QB Demond Williams Jr. is a highly regarded four-star recruit in the 2024 class, committing to Washington.

Washington includes WR Audric Harris, who is a three-star recruit in the 2024 class, and RB Adam Mohammed, also a three-star recruit in the 2024 class.
