ASKING NEWS:THE RAMS ARE ASKING SHOULD DALLAS COWBOYS SIGN RAMS CENTER BRIAN ALLEN IN FREE AGENCY?https://360sportgist.com/
Brian Allen, the center for the Los Angeles Rams, is currently a free agent, presenting an opportunity for the Dallas Cowboys to potentially sign him.
With the Dallas Cowboys seeking a center, they have the option of addressing this need in the upcoming draft. However, Bleacher Report proposes another avenue, suggesting that the Cowboys could pursue Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen in free agency. They speculate that a one-year contract worth $3 million could be a viable option for the team.
According to Bleacher Report, Brian Allen, who served as the starting center for the Los Angeles Rams during their Super Bowl run in 2021, has faced challenges in recent years. In 2022, he was limited to just five games due to knee and thumb injuries. Last season, he saw limited playing time, with only 34 snaps across five appearances, as Coleman Shelton assumed the starting center role. Despite this downturn, Allen’s track record suggests he could be a strong candidate for a comeback. While the Cowboys might be considering a rookie, such as Jackson Powers-Johnson, with the 24th overall pick in the draft, adding someone like Allen from Michigan State could alleviate the pressure on the position. At 28 years old, Allen still has potential and deserves another opportunity to anchor an offensive line.
Bringing Allen to the Cowboys would entail some risk, but it could also yield rewards. He brings valuable playoff experience, something a rookie may lack, and could potentially come at a lower cost than a first-round draft pick. Additionally, signing Allen would provide flexibility for the Cowboys in the draft, allowing them to focus on other positions initially or select a player who can develop behind Allen before taking on a starting role.
In summary, the Cowboys’ interior offensive line is poised for change, and Brian Allen could be at the forefront of that transformation.
