Kalvin Phillips has been a recent subject of discussion within Barcelona circles, but it appears that the club is not genuinely committed to acquiring the Manchester City star. Phillips is reportedly considering a move to West Ham United this January, with talks already underway between the London club and Manchester City for a potential loan deal.

With Phillips seemingly off the table, Barcelona seems to have redirected their attention to Lucas Bergvall as they aim to reinforce their midfield. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provides an update, stating that Barcelona is making progress in their pursuit of Bergvall and has scheduled further talks with the player.

Currently playing for the Swedish team Djurgarden, Bergvall is well aware of the interest surrounding him, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich also expressing interest. However, Eintracht Frankfurt emerges as a strong competitor in the race for Bergvall, known for their success in discovering hidden talents across Europe.

Despite Barcelona’s eagerness to outpace Eintracht Frankfurt, they are not rushing to secure Bergvall’s signature in the current January transfer window. The Catalans are facing economic challenges, making it impractical to fund an immediate move. Instead, Barcelona’s offer to sign the Swedish talent is intended for the upcoming summer transfer window.
