Birmingham City considered letting go of an attacker in January transfer window.

Birmingham City reportedly contemplated parting ways with Keshi Anderson during the January transfer window, according to a BirminghamLive report. The club was willing to let the 29-year-old attacker leave midway through the season to pursue one of their targets, as stated by Tony Mowbray.

Despite this, Anderson, who has featured in 21 matches across all competitions this season for the Championship side, opted to remain and compete for his spot.

As things currently stand, Keshi Anderson’s contract with Birmingham is set to expire at the end of this term, and he has not yet agreed to an extension, indicating that he will become a free agent this summer.

Birmingham secured his services on a free transfer last year following a successful trial, and he signed a one-year deal. Throughout his time in the Midlands, Anderson has worked under four different managers: John Eustace, Wayne Rooney, Tony Mowbray, and now Gary Rowett, albeit on an interim basis.

Keshi Anderson offers valuable competition and depth in attacking positions for Birmingham, although he isn’t guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup. Birmingham faces a crucial decision regarding his future, which remains uncertain at this point.

Anderson brings a wealth of experience in the Football League, having previously played for clubs like Swindon Town and Blackpool. In their recent 3-0 victory against Coventry City, Anderson started the match, contributing to the team’s efforts to secure survival.

Currently positioned outside the relegation zone, Birmingham received a boost when Bristol City scored a late equalizer against Huddersfield Town. They sit one point above Huddersfield as they gear up for their remaining three fixtures against Rotherham United, Huddersfield, and Norwich City.
