One silver lining for the club is that they have already played against Southampton twice this season.

Although it may sound unusual, Southampton is among the four teams fiercely competing for automatic promotion this season, and boasts a standout player in Adam Armstrong, who has historically performed well against the Blues.

Considering Armstrong’s consistent success against Birmingham City over the years, the club must be weary of facing him. He not only regularly scores against them but has experienced just one defeat against Birmingham in his career thus far.

Given Birmingham’s relegation battle, they are likely relieved to have already played Southampton and faced Armstrong twice this season. If Southampton were to secure promotion, it would certainly benefit Birmingham City.
