Birmingham City young star chased by Premier League sides

The U16 striker Ugorji appears to be one young talent who has drawn attention this season, and the Championship club’s academy has taken note of his impressive exploits.

Birmingham City is home to one of the best academies in the nation. Many outstanding players have passed through the Blues’ ranks and been promoted to St. Andrew’s first team or youth setups, depending on their level of skill.

Ugorji is coveted by a few major clubs, according to Football Insider, after racking up 26 goals and 15 assists in 28 games this season. Rivals in both England and Nigeria, the Birmingham City prodigy is being watched by teams in the Premier League and Ligue 1 in France.

Considered one of the team’s best attacking players, he joined the Blues in 2016.

Ugorji appears to be headed for a successful future at Birmingham City, yet his success at the U16 level may allow him to advance before making a breakthrough at St. Andrew’s. He appears to be another talented player in the team’s lineup, though.

The senior side currently has a handful of academy graduates. In addition to Romelle Donovan, who is trying to make an impression, midfield talents Jordan James, George Hall, and Alfie Chang should all be consistently engaged.

Famous players like Jude and Jobe Bellingham have moved on to bigger and better things. Jude, for example, left Borussia Dortmund to become one of the greatest players in the world with Real Madrid.

If interest picks up, Ugorji might have to make a choice about his future. Although Birmingham City offers a clear path to senior football, he may benefit more from moving up the divisions to another academy if a major club makes an offer.
