Birmingham City Football Club and UB40 have teamed up to present the world premiere of the band’s new album UB45, marking the formal beginning of the Club’s naming rights relationship, St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. This concert will serve as UB40’s “kick-off” event for their long 2024 World Tour.

During the event, the Club will debut the new branding for St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park stadium. In addition, there will be a ton of activities happening throughout the Stadium.

Fan Zones and alcohol selling

After the game, all street food vendors will continue to operate, providing service around the Stadium until the UB40 concert begins. Alcohol will be offered in the Kop Car Park Fan Zone, the Main Stand outdoor bar, and the container bar in the Kop/Tilton Corner as soon as the full-time whistle sounds. All other bars, including kiosks, will serve alcohol fifteen minutes after full-time. Because of licensing regulations, this is the case, however after the allotted 15 minutes, supporters are free to bring alcohol to their seats. At 6.30 p.m., all bars will close.

Live performances

At 1:45 p.m., the local Bluenose band The Ansells will perform live in the Kop Car Park Fan Zone. Music will fill the new area from 1pm, with DJ Lee Bibb spinning indie hits and a special UB40 warm-up set following the last whistle.

At 2:30 pm, Michael Johnson will join Louie Forde, who will be returning to his regular spot outside the Changing Room Bar with his guitar, to share tales from his time spent at Blues. After the game, Louie will return to the stage to get the Tilton excited for UB40.

There’s more live music at the Gil Merrick as well. Chris Newcombe will be performing indie classics for the fans there while holding a guitar.

Street food

This year’s street food lineup boasts a significant addition with the debut of Birmingham’s beloved Bluenose fried chicken experts, Greidy’s. They will be stationed outside the Changing Room Bar from 1:30 pm, serving until the UB40 concert or until they sell out.

At the Kop Car Park Fan Zone, three highly popular vendors will be present: Fat Snags offering Lashford sausages, Disco Fries serving hand-cut fries with various toppings, and Street Souvlaki grilling fresh chicken in Greek style.

In the Kop/Tilton Corner, De Bouef will offer steak and chips alongside sweet treats from Hungry Penguin Pancake Company.

Ranv’s Rasoi, known for their signature chicken ruby, will be stationed in the Gil Merrick area, serving until the UB40 concert.

Arthur’s Area attendees can enjoy freshly cooked pizza from Cofton Pizza’s stone-fired oven.

All vendors will continue serving after the game leading up to the UB40 concert or until their supplies run out.

Family activities

The family activity to occupy the kids will go along with the food and music. In addition to organizing the inflatable football challenge in the Main Stand, the Foundation will open the PlayStation Hub in the Kop Car Park Fan Zone. The resident face painters will join the junior supporters of Arthur’s Area, setting the mood for an exciting day of football and music for all.
