Breaking: Another Coach Could Leave Georgia and GEORGIA BULLDOGS 2024 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

The Georgia Bulldogs have lost a number of coaches this summer, and it appears that the list will only get longer. Coach of the Bulldogs’ running backs, Dell McGee, is reportedly seeking to close a contract to take over as Georgia State Panthers’ next head coach, sources informed Dawgs Daily. On Thursday morning, McGee will have his last interview. McGee would be taking on his first head coaching position at a collegiate level.

McGee played running back for the Bulldogs for nine seasons and was one of the few surviving members of Kirby Smart’s original coaching staff. During his time there, McGee taught athletes that went on to become superstars in Georgia, including Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, D’Andre Swift, and James Cook. He gained recognition for his ability to connect with players.

It will be extremely difficult for the Bulldogs to replace a coach with McGee’s level of experience and notoriety—they have now lost two offensive position coaches in as many weeks. But the Bulldogs have a fantastic running back room full of talent, and their elite culture will draw in a lot of big-time coaches.
