Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik has officially committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies. The highly-touted quarterback made the surprising decision to transfer, opting to join a program that has been aggressively rebuilding under head coach Brent Pry.

Klubnik, who was a standout for Clemson, cited the Hokies’ vision for the future and an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the team’s resurgence as reasons for his decision. In his statement, Klubnik shared:

“Virginia Tech offers me a chance to grow as a player and a leader. Coach Pry and his staff have an incredible plan for the program, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

The Hokies’ emphasis on rebuilding their offense and giving Klubnik the opportunity to operate as the centerpiece of their system likely swayed the quarterback to make the leap.

Klubnik, a former five-star recruit, brings a wealth of talent and leadership to the Hokies. Known for his precision passing, poise under pressure, and football IQ, he is expected to revitalize a Virginia Tech offense that struggled last season.

Standing at 6’2” and boasting a strong arm, Klubnik has the tools to elevate the Hokies’ passing game. At Clemson, he threw for over 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns while demonstrating his ability to execute in high-pressure situations.
