Manager Nick Montgomery benched Sunderland loanee defender Nectar Triantis this past weekend.

Since joining Hibernian on loan in January, the Australian defender has made four appearances in the Scottish Premiership; nevertheless, he was left off of the starting lineup for Saturday’s match against Dundee.
The center back was substituted in the second half as Hibs triumphed at home 2-1. Elezier Mayenda, a fellow loanee from Sunderland, began the match on the bench but saw no action

Following his own January loan move from Sunderland to Hibs, the striker has only made one league appearance off the bench. Mayenda and Triantis were both brought in by the Black Cats during the summer transfer window, however they were both loaned away in January after failing to secure a starting position.

In his sixth game for Oxford United after signing on loan during the winter window, Jay Matete started in League One on Saturday but was unable to stop his team’s 2-1

setback.

In League Two, Alex Bass got the start in goal as AFC Wimbledon lost 1-0 to Doncaster Rovers. This was the goalie’s 34th league start for the team this season. In his sixth appearance of the season, Jack Diamond got the start for Carlisle United in their 2-1 away loss to Bristol Rovers in League One.

Loanee defender Joe Anderson didn’t feature at all for Shrewsbury Town in League One over the weekend and didn’t make the bench. Jewison Bennette’s loan club Aris are back in action on Sunday afternoon.

16-year-old goalkeeper Matty Young started as Darlington ran out 2-1 winners against Buxton in the National League North as the highly-rated stopper continues to gain minutes and experience.
