BREAKING: Dejounte might not be the best choice to return, based on his recent shenanigans.

The San Antonio Spurs should proceed with caution before making any trade choices involving Dejounte Murray, despite recent trade speculations.

Rumors of reconciliation and reunion between Dejounte Murray and the San Antonio Spurs have been circulating recently. Reconciliation is more about the fan base than it is about the team. The Spurs faithful were offended by DJ’s remarks as he was leaving, which makes sense, but there is no denying that the opportunity to get a reliable point guard with playmaking ability cannot be passed up.

A lot of Spurs fans are divided on this issue. The thought of bringing back someone quick to throw the franchise under the bus is a no-go for many, while others are fine with leaving the past where it resides if it means upgrading a pertinent position. Unfortunately for the ladder, Murray is proving that he has not grown up during his tenure in Atlanta.

Dejounte simply doesn’t fit with the Spurs’ culture.
Coach Popovich has made it apparent what the expectations are in San Antonio. He should have a trademark on the statement “We want guys that are over themselves,” since everyone has heard him say it so frequently. Following his trade to the Hawks, Dejounte took to Instagram to address criticism he had received from Spurs supporters. He responded in a way that was demeaning to a refined organization that has never done anything to merit such hate, particularly from a player they selected in the first round.

His repeated attacks on fans who don’t live up to the “fanatic” moniker on social media should dissuade San Antonio from considering repurchasing the Washington Husky. The point guard position is obviously in need, but Tyus Jones might be a more practical alternative given the cost, according to recent sources. Whichever route the Spurs decide to take, it shouldn’t include getting back together with Dejounte Murray.

• Why not get going? Tre Jones was always ridiculous; the most recent MVP rankings call into question the Wembanyama ROY debate; the success of a former player indicates that Popovich still has a fastball
• Profound player rankings demonstrate how Wembanyama’s greatness is being underappreciated.
Tony Parker reveals the details of the forthcoming, obvious Spurs move.
