Would a hefty offer ever entice Max Verstappen to leave Red Bull?

Red Bull has stated that Max Verstappen will be able to choose whether to stay for the duration of his contract based on the team’s success rather than compensation.

The three-time Formula One champion is committed to Red Bull through 2028, which includes two seasons under the new rules.

Whatever the inevitable ripple effect, Lewis Hamilton’s sensational switch from Mercedes to Ferrari has raised questions about Max Verstappen’s long-term prospects.

If a more aggressive opponent made a large-scale offer, would he accept it and remain at Red Bull?
Helmut Marko told Servus TV, “There are clauses if certain success quality criteria are not met, as in every Formula 1 contract.”

“Max’s contract also includes these.

“I don’t think Max is bothered by an inconceivably large sum of money.

“He obviously wants to be a successful race car driver if we are unable to give him a vehicle that can win races.”

And it’s very obvious that he will search about if he doesn’t see the light with Red Bull and these requirements apply.

Where, though, might anything better exist?

It will be interesting to see how Mercedes chooses to replace Hamilton in 2025.

Mercedes may choose a younger driver with a promising future over one of the more well-known options, such as Fernando Alonso.

The new laws, which take effect in 2026, may also rebalance the market and put Red Bull’s hegemony to the test.
Sergio Perez’s contract is about to expire in 2025, and Red Bull will need to make some internal decisions before a number of potential replacements become available.

Marko stated, “Perez still has a contract for 2024; it’s up to him.”

“We can easily talk about a further extension if he drives in a similar form to how he finished the last races [of 2023].”

Marko has put up a fight against Daniel Ricciardo, a vital option who made a comeback with Red Bull sister team AlphaTauri (now Visa Cash App RB) last year.

Marko stated, “Ricciardo needs to demonstrate that he has [Yuki] Tsunoda under control.”

Then he may run for office.

However, you requested a date. I would advise you to have some considerations ready for after the summer vacation.”
