As the NFL season draws to a close, a lot of football fans are already considering 2024 and the forthcoming NFL Draft.

In the first round, the Green Bay Packers had the 25th pick. These are the actions that a few mock drafts project the Packers to do.

Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama The 6-foot-1, 195 McKinstry is a former 5-star recruit and a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide. McKinstry has functioned on an island, but is more of a pure cover man than a playmaker. His speed might not wow scouts, but he has terrific acceleration on crossing routes and is extremely aggressive challenging receivers.

It makes sense for Green Bay to take a corner early since Jaire Alexander, their top corner, had an erratic and injury-plagued season; Eric Stokes is unable to remain healthy; and rookie seventh-round draft pick Carrington Valentine still has a lot to prove.

Troy Fautanu, OL, Washington

The 6-foot-4, 317-pound Fautanu has the versatility to play inside and outside, something the Packers love from their linemen.

Fautanu started all 13 games last season and was part of a Huskies offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award, an honor given annually to the best offensive line in the country.

The Packers could lose offensive linemen David Bakhtiari, Jon Runyan, Yosh Nijman and perhaps Royce Newman this offseason. So restocking this positional group could be vital.

Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

The 6-foot, 200-pound Mitchell is an elite athlete who many believe will run the 40-yard dash in the 4.30 range at next month’s NFL Combine.

In three years, Mitchell had six interceptions and 45 passes defensed for the Rockets. In 2022, his 19 passes defensed ranked second in the entire nation.

Ennis Rakestraw, CB, Missouri

The 6-foot, 187-pound Rakestraw has been a fast riser in recent weeks, and could work his way into the first round.

Rakestraw had 24 pass breakups during his three years with the Tigers, including 12 in the 2022 campaign.

He tore his ACL during practice in 2021, though, and is expected to miss the Senior Bowl after undergoing surgery to repair a core muscle injury.

BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia, OT

The former 5-star recruit Suamataia, who stands 6 feet 6 inches and weighs 315 pounds, moves remarkably well for a man his size. He might start competing right away for the left tackle spot in Green Bay.

Suamataia has large hands, lengthy arms, and amazing dexterity when it comes to reaching his targets. Suamataia’s ceiling is exceptionally high, as he recently turned 21.
