If Bernardo Silva leaves Manchester City this summer, reports indicate that the club is considering adding Lucas Paqueta, a Brazilian midfielder for West Ham United, to their already impressive roster.
City, who won the FA Cup, the Premier League, and the UEFA Champions League the previous season, had been interested in signing Paqueta but had backed out when the Football Association looked into possible bet-related infractions involving the midfield player.

According to reports, the inquiry is still ongoing and centers on questionable betting activity including yellow cards. Paqueta has insisted on his innocence throughout the investigation, and his representatives are optimistic that the truth will come to light and the matter will be settled in time for the season to end.

Pep Guardiola still has a lot of respect for the 26-year-old despite the continuing inquiry. He is considered as a possible midfield signing for City should interest in Bernardo Silva grow, per a report from The Telegraph.

Paqueta was reportedly valued at £80 million when he was connected to a transfer to the Etihad Stadium the previous season, according to the article.

The Brazilian international paid more than £50 million to join West Ham, suggesting that the team may make a big profit if they are able to achieve their intended selling price.

Paqueta’s current deal at the London Stadium has three years left on it, with the option to extend it by one more. He has made 27 appearances for West Ham this season, recording five goals and six assists in all competitions.

Is Bernardo Silva’s departure from Manchester City imminent?
Silva, who is now 29 years old, has two years remaining on his deal after it was extended at the beginning of the season. Despite this, a number of teams have expressed interest in signing the Portuguese international, including Paris Saint-Germain, who are expecting to lose Kylian Mbappe in

The importance of having Silva at the team before they started this season was underscored by the departures of offensive players Cole Palmer and Riyad Mahrez.

But Silva has made it clear that he want to play one more season at Benfica. In spite of this, he has been an important member of the Citizens, making 22 Premier League games this year and dishing out four assists in addition to six goals.
