Renowned Hollywood mega-star and devoted Leeds United supporter, Russell Crowe, has confirmed his investment in the club as part of the takeover by 49ers Enterprises.

The American consortium, 49ers Enterprises, assumed full ownership of Leeds last summer, following the acquisition of Andrea Radrizzani’s stake, which they had held as a minority shareholder since 2018. This takeover attracted numerous smaller investors, including well-known celebrities, to Elland Road.

Among the notable personalities linked to the club were swimming icon Michael Phelps and professional golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. However, Crowe, famed for his starring role in the 2000 blockbuster “Gladiator,” for which he won an Oscar for Best Actor, may have eclipsed them all.

Responding to speculation after Leeds’ official account posted a video of Crowe confirming his upcoming appearance at the Brudenell Social Club in Hyde Park, the actor addressed rumors about his involvement with League Two side Wrexham.

Crowe clarified, stating, “I don’t have any part of what’s going on in Wrexham, man. I’m really impressed with Ryan and Rob, and what they are achieving, but I’m not part of that. I do, however, have a very small connection now financially to LUFC via the 49er family. So, yeah, exactly… but opposite.”
