BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea are reportedly eager to swiftly finalize a deal for a player after surpassing a competitor in the race for his signature. The player is said to prefer a move to Chelsea over other options.

Two days ago, Calciomercato reported that Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are currently competing to secure the signing of Napoli star Victor Osimhen, with both clubs prepared to invest over €100 million to acquire his services in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Last month, the striker expressed his desire to depart from the Serie A side after the conclusion of this season, with Chelsea emerging as a potential destination ever since.

Italian journalist Emanuele Cammaroto, in his column for Napoli Magazine, provides the latest insights on Chelsea and PSG’s pursuit of Osimhen. According to Cammaroto, Napoli stands to generate €130 million from Osimhen’s transfer alone, along with an additional €40-50 million from the sales of several other players.

Chelsea’s emergence as frontrunners in the race for the Nigerian international is noteworthy. Cammaroto asserts that Osimhen favors a move to the west London club, and Chelsea is keen on expediting the deal.

For Napoli, retaining the former Lille forward appears increasingly unlikely, signaling a significant windfall from his eventual sale.

Cammaroto’s assertion that Osimhen prefers Chelsea aligns with a previous report from Gazzetta dello Sport, which indicated that the Premier League side would be his preferred choice, partly due to the influence of former Chelsea star Didier Drogba.

So far this season, Osimhen has amassed nine goals and three assists from 19 appearances.
