According to sources, Juventus intends to sign a new contract with Southampton in the summer and has faith in Carlos Alcaraz.

The 21-year-old midfielder from Argentina, who raised some eyebrows, signed a six-month loan deal with the Bianconeri from the Saints last month. The deal included add-ons for about €1.9 million and a €49.5 million buyout option.

Alcaraz has only made two appearances in his first three weeks at Juventus, and he is still getting used to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad. With no league football in June, he has a little more than three months to persuade the Old Lady to give him a job that will keep him in Turin.

Nicola Balice of Calciomercato.com has revealed that Juventus intends to make Southampton a fresh bid for Alcaraz in the summer since they are hesitant to exercise his pricey €49.5 million buy option after just five months.

In an attempt to reduce the transfer expenses, the Bianconeri are considering drafting new loan terms and perhaps converting the buy option into an obligation clause. During their summer negotiations, Southampton’s interest in Matias Soule may possibly come up.
