The Washington Commanders signed Nigerian Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi to bolster their defensive line. Ndubuisi participates in the IPPP, or International Player Pathway Program.

23-year-old Nigerian lineman Ndubuisi (6-7, 323 pounds) grew up playing basketball and soccer. After discovering the Uprise Academy, a Nigerian football program run by former NFL defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, he began to watch football and the NFL on YouTube.

In April 2022, Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi made his NFL debut as an offensive lineman assigned to the Arizona Cardinals. He was released and sent to the Denver Broncos, where he switched to defensive tackle after playing in just one preseason game.

Ndubuisi did not sign a reserve or future contract; instead, he was a member of the Broncos’ practice squad for the 2023 season. Ndubuisi signed a contract with the United Football League (UFL) San Antonio Brahmas on February 1st, however on February 12th, he was waived. Now, he arrives at the Commanders’ side.

The Additions of Washington Commanders
With the most additions made thus far in the NFL offseason of 2024, general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn have been quite busy this offseason.

Running back Austin Ekeler, linebacker Bobby Wagner, guard Tyler Allegretti, defensive tackle Clellin Ferrell, and safety Jeremy Chinn are among the notable arrivals.

Quinn has also included a few players from his Dallas days. The former Cowboys from last season, defensive end Dante Fowler Jr., cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, defensive lineman Dorance Armstrong, and center Tyler Biadasz, have all signed with the Commanders. Each new member ought to improve their standing groups in Washington.
