BREAKING NEWS: North Carolina football offers two in-state prospects

On Wednesday afternoon, Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels set up shop on the recruiting trail, setting the stage for next classes. The program made two in-state recruit offers for the 2026 and 2027 classes.

The first athlete to receive an offer that day was Gordon Sellars, a 2026 potential at wide receiver. Currently a student at Providence Day School in Charlotte, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Sellars has received offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, East Carolina, and Virginia Tech. On Wednesday afternoon, he formally added UNC to that list and announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he had accepted the offer:

After Sellars made his offer public, Providence Day School’s Griff Galloway, a 2027 class edge rusher, also revealed he had gotten an offer:

That same day, Marshall and Appalachian State also made offers to Galloway, raising his total.

Although the recruiting cycle for these classes is still extremely early, it’s encouraging to see the Tar Heels engage with these talents from within the state.
