This weekend’s match between Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United at the New York Stadium is set to be played in front of a capacity crowd.

Last week, it was announced that Sheffield Wednesday had sold out their allocated 2,115 tickets for the South Yorkshire derby, as anticipated. Now, it has been disclosed that home supporters have also snapped up the remaining tickets for the match. According to a statement on the club’s official website, “Tickets for Rotherham United’s South Yorkshire derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday 2nd March have now completely sold out. The demand is so high that the club is even offering to repurchase tickets from those unable to attend.”

“The final remaining tickets for the South Yorkshire derby fixture were swiftly taken by supporters on Tuesday morning, ensuring that the game will be played in front of a capacity crowd at AESSEAL New York Stadium.”

“Season Ticket holders who cannot attend the match against the Owls have the option to return their seats through our Buy-Back scheme. If the club successfully resells your ticket, you will receive a credit of 75% of the seat’s value to your Millers Wallet.”

Rotherham’s highest attendance this season was 11,487 when Middlesbrough visited on Boxing Day. However, it is anticipated that this figure will be surpassed on Saturday afternoon as the Championship’s bottom two sides face off in a significant encounter at S60.
