On Wednesday, Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown discussed Philadelphia’s late-season setbacks and stated that head coach Nick Sirianni is still the best choice for the group.
Brown stated on the “Up & Adams Show” that “we tried to stop the bleeding, but I think we just kind of ran out of time.”
After losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9 in the wild card round, there was talk that Sirianni would be fired, but Smith stated that the Eagles players still had faith in the player, who is back for a fourth season with the team.
Smith went on, “I don’t think he’s lost the team.” We simply didn’t perform well as a team, and I believe that we had to adjust to a few things. He hasn’t lost the team in my opinion at all.
The sideline supervisor, who has a 34-17 record as a head coach, reportedly acknowledged that in 2023 the offense “got a little stale.”
The Eagles had a 10-1 start to the regular season but lost six of their final seven games as a result of losing their late-season form. Several of Philadelphia’s most well-known players, like Brown, who has stated time and time again that he wasn’t bothered by quarterback Jalen Hurts’ frequent targeting of him in the 2023 season, were observed venting their annoyance during games.
The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver recently deleted some Instagram postings that mentioned the Eagles and deactivated his account on X, which raised questions about his future. But Brown clarified that his behavior on social media “had nothing to do with football.”

“I’m a veteran; I’ve kind of been through this before,” Brown, who was acquired by the Eagles in a historic deal in 2022 from the Tennessee Titans, remarked. After the trade, Philly signed him to a $100 million, four-year contract.
Brown stated that football is “a business,” but he did not refute the most recent trade speculations.
He continued, “I think you just gotta be prepared.”
