Coach Luke Fickell and the University of Wisconsin football program have secured their second commitment from an Ohio high school standout this week. Jai’mier Scott, hailing from Mt. Healthy High School in Cincinnati, announced his decision to play for Wisconsin, with plans to contribute as a safety for the Badgers.

Scott, recognized as a four-star recruit in composite rankings by On3, Rivals, and 247Sports, garnered Power Five offers from various prestigious institutions. These include Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and, of course, Wisconsin. His commitment follows a series of visits, including an unofficial one last spring and a game-day visit during the Badgers’ match against Nebraska in November.

Having disclosed his top eight schools on December 1—Michigan, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Illinois, Penn State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and Louisville—Scott added excitement to the recruitment process with tweets showcasing his gear from the Wolverines, Volunteers, Badgers, and Nittany Lions. Coach Fickell and defensive line coach Greg Scruggs recently visited Mt. Healthy, as confirmed by the team’s coach, Jordan Stevens.

With this commitment, Wisconsin’s 2025 class now boasts six verbal commitments, featuring talents like quarterback Landyn Locke, defensive back Remington Moss, offensive lineman Michael Roeske, inside linebacker Cooper Catalano, and safety Cody Haddad, who announced his decision earlier this week.
