BREAKING NEWS: The Broncos have made a move to sign offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton.
On April 1st, 2024, at 3:37pm CST, Sam Robinson reported that the Broncos are expanding their ties to the Saints by signing offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton. Throckmorton, who previously played for the Panthers and Titans, reunites with his former coach Sean Payton in Denver.
Throckmorton’s experience includes 14 starts for the Saints in 2021, primarily at guard. Despite mixed reviews from Pro Football Focus, his familiarity with Payton’s system could prove valuable for the Broncos. Throckmorton is expected to compete for a role as an interior swingman alongside established guards Quinn Meinerz and Ben Powers.
With the departure of center Lloyd Cushenberry in free agency, Throckmorton’s versatility and experience may enhance his chances of securing a roster spot with the Broncos.
