BREAKING NEWS: Victor Osimhen moves to Chelsea, Napoli Seeks Replacement Striker

Napoli appears to be on the verge of securing a new striker, a move that coincides with ongoing speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen’s potential transfer to Chelsea.

With Chelsea actively considering reinforcements during the January transfer window, there is a particular focus on bolstering the striker position, especially with Nicolas Jackson currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations. The absence of the star striker has fueled rumors of Chelsea’s interest in acquiring a new forward, with Sporting CP’s Victor Gyokeres previously mentioned as a possible target, although sources suggest no actual interest from Stamford Bridge.

Amidst these developments, Napoli seems to be making contingency plans for the potential departure of Victor Osimhen, who played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A club has reached an agreement with Hellas Verona for the acquisition of striker Cyril Ngonge, with a reported €18 million (£15.5 million) deal between the two clubs.

While the agreement is in place, it remains unclear whether Ngonge’s arrival directly impacts Osimhen’s future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Osimhen, in a recent interview, expressed contentment with his current situation at Napoli and emphasized a strong relationship with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis. He emphasized the president’s unwavering support both on and off the pitch, highlighting their positive rapport.

Addressing the prospect of joining a Premier League club, Osimhen expressed openness to the idea in the future, stating that while he currently has different plans for his career, the possibility of playing in the Premier League remains an aspiration for him.
