With a few top 2025 recruiting targets, Wisconsin Badgers head football coach Luke Fickell and his staff are well-positioned following their most recent set of junior day visits to campus.

Three-star Lawrenceville, New Jersey, edge rusher Samuel Lateju was one target the Badgers pursued in particular. They may even be the school to beat in his recruiting.

“It was a wholesome experience,” Lateju told Badgernotes about his visit. “Madison has a lot to offer both academically and for football. They are very welcoming and run a similar defense to what I’m used to.”

Notably, Raphael Dunn, a recent recruit to the Wisconsin football team, and the top Lawrenceville School High School student were teammates.

Wisconsin Football Is in a Good Position to Sign Three-Star OLB Samuel Lateju.

Bringing in insiders has According to crystal ball predictions made by 247Sports’ Nick Osen and Evan Flood, Samuel Lateju will end up playing football for the Wisconsin Badgers.

While Colin Hitschler was Lateju’s primary recruiter at first, Max Stienecker, the director of player personnel for the Wisconsin Badgers, and the coaching staff have assisted in closing the gap and even paid a visit to his school.

Lateju is ranked as the No. 24 player in New Jersey and the No. 66 EDGE in the 2025 recruiting class. Pitt, Duke, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Maryland, West Virginia, and Boston College have all offered him scholarships.

Lateju is the quintessential outside backer in terms of length and size, standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 220 pounds. In the run game, he does a fantastic job of leading the way and contributing.

In light of the potential departure of three-star linebacker Brenden Anes, which could leave the Wisconsin football team with just one or two openings at outside linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class, Lateju may want to think about securing his spot from the start.
