BREAKING: SEC officially announces Georgia 2024 football schedule

The SEC has formally released the Georgia football schedule for the 2024 campaign. The league revealed the teams this past summer, so the Bulldogs have known their opponents for the 2024 campaign for a long time.

The Bulldogs now have the schedule for their bye weeks and their trips to Texas and Alabama. The league declared that the Georgia vs. Alabama game will kick off on ABC on September 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Prior to playing Georgia, the Crimson Tide will also have a week off.

Below are the dates and the complete Georgia football schedule for the 2024 campaign. So far, only Georgia’s matchup against Alabama has been assigned a game time and TV network.

Notably, the weeks before they play Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi State, and Florida are all off.

Texas and Oklahoma will join the SEC for the first time in 2024, and on October 19, Georgia will pay a visit to the Longhorns. When the two teams faced off in the 2018 Sugar Bowl, the Longhorns prevailed. One of the four teams participating in the College Football Playoff is Texas. The week prior to its matchup with Georgia, Texas plays rival Oklahoma.

Following the announcement of former Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff’s transfer to Kentucky, the first SEC game of the season for the Bulldogs became considerably more intriguing. Vandagriff signed as a 5-star recruit and has played his entire career at Georgia.

The SEC will continue to play eight games per season and will no longer have divisions. Annual games against Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Missouri have been eliminated, and Georgia will now host home games against Tennessee, Auburn, and Mississippi State. Ole Miss will also host the Bulldogs.

Next season, Georgia will have two bye weeks: the first on September 21 and the second on October 26. The Georgia game versus Alabama is scheduled for the first off week, while the Florida Gators game is scheduled for the second off week. The game will take place in Jacksonville, Florida, once more.
