Due to illness, Gordon Forrest was unable to attend Monday’s Scottish Cup match at Morton.

Due to illness, Hearts coach Gordon Forrest was unable to lead the team during Monday’s Scottish Cup victory at Morton. Liam Fox, the manager of the B team, took Over in the technical area. Steven Naismith, the head coach of Tynecastle, called the shift “seamless” and expressed his desire to see all Riccarton employees collaborate more closely.

In an effort to make it easier for young players to advance, Naismith has made an effort to connect the Hearts first team, B team, and under-18 groups. Fox frequently participates in senior group activities and offers insight during Hearts’ Premiership games.

When Forrest canceled before the cup tie at Cappielow, he filled in and worked with Naismith and his aide, Frankie McAvoy. Hearts advanced to the semi-finals, where they will take on Rangers, thanks to a late strike by Kenneth Vargas.

“Foxy filled in for Gordon since he was sick. He usually makes the trip to games with us and provides us with commentary from the stands. “Hiring him went smoothly,” Naismith told the Edinburgh News. “That is one of the things we have been working on in the background; everything needs to be connected.

We’re hoping Forrest gets well in time for the league’s visit to Ross County on Saturday. Before the game at Global Energy Stadium on Friday afternoon, Hearts will journey north and spend the night in the Highlands.
