BREAKING: West Ham 6-2 Jarrod Bowen makes a strong case for an England call-up in the March internationals for Brentford.

After West Ham defeated Brentford 4-2, Jarrod Bowen scored his first goals since December 23. Bowen’s hat-trick helped reduce David Moyes’s pressure, as he stated of Bowen, “The goals will hopefully get him back in Gareth Southgate’s thinking.”

Jarrod Bowen, who scored his first professional hat-trick in West Ham’s 4-2 victory against Brentford on Monday Night Football, will be hoping he has timed his run for England inclusion for the upcoming March internationals to perfection.

After eight games without a win, which raised greater doubts about David Moyes’ future, the Hammers won their first game of 2024, thanks to goals from Bowen—his first since before Christmas.
As part of their last preparations for Euro 2024 in the summer, England play Brazil at Wembley on March 23 and then host Belgium in another international friendly three days later. In the upcoming two weeks, Gareth Southgate will select his team for those games.

With five caps for England, Bowen has scored 14 goals so far this season, matching the total of Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke. Having surpassed 12 in 2021/22, it is his highest total from a single campaign in the tournament.
“That takes care of itself,” was Bowen’s response when questioned about trying to get inside Southgate’s head. “I was disappointed not to score since the Manchester United game.”
In his senior year, Bowen had scored two goals in a game sixteen times. This was his first time managing to turn it into a hat-trick.

After the game, he stated, “I’ve had a couple of occasions where I’ve had two goals and never got the hat-trick,” in an interview with Sky Sports.
It was in my thoughts. Even though I don’t score many headers, they all matter. I’m so proud of myself right now. That third one you’re always hoping for never materializes. After giving the header a quick glance, it entered. I was eager to grasp it.

“I constantly want to take pictures, so I prepare the touch up. It got in as I didn’t catch it cleanly. I always seek for the cut back with my left foot.

“I was lingering in the box, attempting to avoid the defender’s attention.” I don’t think I’ve ever scored two goals in under seven minutes, as I noticed. After Kudus hit a fantastic ball, I believed I was in. I simply attempted to position myself correctly inside the box and have faith that the ball will find its way in.”
Although Bowen did not make the England World Cup team in 2022, he made a lot of waves after his third goal with an unusual celebration.

“I’ve been watching a lot of MC’ing lately, and there’s this guy named DJ Spider Radgie,” the 27-year-old said in clarification. My friend told me to make sure I participated in the Spiderman celebration while we were chatting. It’s been on for a long time! That’s Spider-Man there. It has to be looked up on YouTube by someone. I had to do it for my friend since I had promised him I would.”
West Ham’s miserable Premier League record against Brentford, the only team out of the 43 teams Moyes had faced in the top tier that he had never defeated, was played five times and lost five.

After Everton’s points deduction was lowered from ten to six, Brentford, who had already fallen further into the relegation zone on Monday, lost again, marking their 12th game in a row since defeating West Ham at home in November. Eventually, the damage was stopped.

Regarding his standout performer, Jarrod, Moyes expressed his happiness. “I believe that because we haven’t performed well and Jarrod has been challenging them in every game, his performances lately have gone a little bit overlooked. It hasn’t fully clicked. It did tonight.

“His overall play and his style of work will undoubtedly be noticed, but he also had three or four additional runs in the game where he posed a threat.

“I believe the goals will help him re-enter Gareth’s mind, but since he was a member of the last group, I haven’t seen him go. I believe the national manager will always be interested in you if you can play wide and center forward and score goals.”

Jamie Carragher of Sky Sports on Monday Night Football:

“[David Moyes] probably felt a little nervous about the atmosphere in the stadium heading into this match.

It was a huge night for David Moyes to win the manner they did and score four goals, including a hat-trick from Bowen and an excellent strike from Emerson.

“We made a big deal out of his excellent work at the beginning of the program, but we can appreciate the supporters’ complaints.

“You play that manner, win four goals at home—it’s been a fantastic evening for West Ham in general and, more significantly, for David Moyes. You don’t want to conclude the season on a really terrible note if he decides to stay or depart.

“The inconsistent performances upset me. I’m aware that it exists. We’ll find it quickly again, I’m sure of it.”

“People use various tactics while discussing the games and the referees. Today, we fell short of our potential. We were playing against a very good West Ham team.

“We lost a few close games at pivotal points in the match. The push on Reguilon, in my opinion, was punishment. It seemed like a shove in the back to me, but that’s all.

“We put a lot of effort into being consistent throughout the season. We played the greatest team in the world at the Etihad, and we performed admirably there, but we got two goals here immediately.”
