BREAKING:At deadline, Andre Drummond might be the only move the Bulls make.

It was everything that Andre Drummond had to offer.

The Bulls’ big man, Rudy Gobert (7-1), was reminded twice by the Bulls’ big man that he wasn’t impressed with Gobert’s height when he wasn’t controlling the boards and grabbing rebounds during Tuesday night’s overtime triumph.

Drummond tried to savor every second of the match, since he knew it might be his last wearing a Bulls uniform.

In response to a question regarding the approaching trade deadline, Drummond stated, “I control what I can control.” “I’ve spent the last 12 years doing this. It hasn’t changed and it never will. I am powerless to change it. [A trade]occurs if it does. Great if it doesn’t. I currently play for the Chicago Bulls, regardless of the jersey I wear. In any case, I’m just going to show up every day and go about my business. Tuesday was a terrific night for myself, the squad, and the victory. savoring the occasion.

Drummond undoubtedly completed that, so he’s just waiting until Thursday at 2:00 p.m., when the deadline expires.

He was still the only highly sought-after player the Bulls were ready to give up as of Wednesday in an effort to increase their draft stock by adding a second-round pick. There have been several calls on Alex Caruso, according to a person familiar with the situation, but trading him would require an offer that really stuns them.

DeMar DeRozan has also been discussed, but not in any significant way.

The future of Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan is uncertain, but he prefers it that way.
When it comes time for teams to actually expose their cards on Thursday afternoon, all of that could change, but initially, the league seemed to think that the deadline was going to be lackluster.

Not that it would bother the front desk.

In his first year and a half on the job, Arturas Karnisovas, executive vice president of basketball operations, was as aggressive as anyone in the league. However, he chose to take a back seat as much of what he had built fell apart around him, having started his own rebuilding process heading into the 2021–22 season.

He may have become enamored with his own subpar product, which is one explanation. But awarding Zach LaVine a maximum contract has turned into an absolute nightmare from a dubious choice.

If there was one thing Karnisovas had been attempting to get rid of recently, it was LaVine’s contract. However, once the guard and Klutch Sports representatives decided that LaVine would need season-ending surgery on his right foot, it was clear that LaVine would not be leaving anytime soon.

While dealing Drummond might appear to be as simple as moving around some deck chairs on the Titanic, selections are extremely important to a ninth-place club with little draft capital.

The unfortunate thing about Drummond’s move is that, for the first time this season, center Nikola Vucevic and Drummond were starting together, a matchup-based look that may prove to be a one-and-done for Billy Donovan’s club.

Regarding his debut, Drummond remarked, “It’s been a long time coming.” It has been exciting for me to play with [Vucevic]. We’ve already used it a few times [off the bench], so seeing it in a complete game was encouraging. It demonstrates the kind of group we are.

“They must choose their poison.” Whether you allow me to dominate you in the paint or if [Vucevic] makes a three-pointer. They make a fantastic pair.
