Bulldogs target another prop in addition to Leo Thompson with new offer

The Canterbury Bulldogs might have secured the contract of Leo Thompson for 2026 and beyond, but they aren’t stopping there as director of football Phil Gould and head coach Cameron Ciraldo want to continue flipping the roster over.

Despite returning to the NRL playoffs for the first time in eight years last season, the Bulldogs have made it very plain that additional forwards are still on the agenda when it comes to recruitment movements.

Titans teen Pahulu happy to mix it with the 'big boys'

Sitili Tupouniua from the Sydney Roosters and Tom Amone from the Leigh Leopards in the English Super League will give their pack more muscle for 2025, while Josh Curran signed before the 2024 season and proved to be a success for the blue and white.

In order to restructure their forward pack, Canterbury has re-signed Samuel Hughes through the end of 2026 and Max King through the end of 2027. Decisions regarding off-contract players Kurt Mann, Kurtis Morrin, Jaeman Salmon, Daniel Suluka-Fifita, and Ryan Sutton will need to be made in the upcoming months.

It was reported that Pahulu had asked to leave the Gold Coast immediately after a contract drama involving an opportunity to gain a bonus was denied, but the Titans are thought to have closed the door on that happening.

It’s unclear if any other clubs have expressed interest or made a play for Pahulu.
