The Indiana Fever might see a huge increase in fan support with the arrival of No. 1 WNBA Draft pick Caitlin Clark, who brings her large Iowa fanbase to the WNBA. Clark, a standout at the University of Iowa, boldly addressed the projected surge of support from her collegiate fan base for her professional career in a video posted by the Fever on X, formerly Twitter, and reposted by ClutchPoints.

“I am excited about a new phase. That’s what I was looking forward to, making this (Indianapolis) my home, and I anticipate that many Iowa fans will become Indiana Fever supporters,” Clark said. “I know they already have. They provide excellent support for women’s basketball. I know a lot of them will be in the stands this summer to cheer us on.”

Clark’s excitement in joining the Fever stems not just from her athletic career, but also from her geographical and cultural ties to the Midwest; she previously revealed that during the draft lottery, she hoped the Fever would receive the first pick.”You know, I’m a Midwest girl,” she explained.
