Zane Tetevano, a former forward for the Leeds Rhinos, has concluded his NRL comeback with the Canterbury Bulldogs.
After three seasons at Leeds, the 33-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal. Before signing with the Rhinos, he played for the Sydney Roosters, Penrith Panthers, and Newcastle Knights in the NRL.
In a victory over Wigan Warriors in May of last year, he played his 47th and final game for Leeds and was sent off for the third time in his Betfred Super League career. Later that month, during training, he had a stroke while serving a ban. Two months before his contract expired, in September, Tetevano was cut free by Rhinos after undergoing surgery to fix a hole in his heart.

The former New Zealand international started training with Canterbury yesterday after making his playing debut for the Cook Islands in the fall of last year. “Zane is a highly respected senior player who will bring leadership and work ethic to our group,” Bulldogs general manager of football Phil Gould said on the team’s website after he passed a fitness test.
