Prior to preparing for the grass season, Carlos Alcaraz partied hard on the party island.
Carlos Alcaraz asserted that going out on the town in Ibiza provided him with the necessary respite prior to attempting to win Wimbledon again.
With his victory at the French Open last Sunday, the legendary Spanish player completed the third leg of his career Grand Slam.
Additionally, it was announced this week that he will play doubles at the Olympics in Paris with his “idol,” Rafael Nadal.
In addition, Alcaraz, 21, stated that prior to kicking off his grasscourt season this week at the Cinch Championships at Queen’s Club, his break in the Balearics was crucial.
The Wimbledon winner grinned, saying, “I had a few days off and I went to Ibiza with a group of friends. I only got to London on Saturday.” I liked to sing along to karaoke in nightclubs. It was a beautiful moment to celebrate Roland Garros, and I simply enjoyed my vacation and my days off.
“As a player, I require this kind of stuff.” Although every player is unique, I must keep my personal and professional lives apart if I want to play my best tennis. On occasion, I use my days off to simply enjoy myself and temporarily forget that I play professional tennis.
“It really helped me to come here hungry and to practise and play matches. Thinking about my personal part, being with friends and my family, stay calm and rest a little bit, put my racquets down a little bit.” For me, it was a really beneficial period.
“I believe I’ll be prepared. I believe that after a few practice sessions, I will be prepared to develop my doubles game and, perhaps, play well alongside Rafa. Let’s see how it turns out; I promise it will be a blast.
Alcaraz’s first opponent at Queen’s Club will be Francisco Cerundolo, who was defeated in five sets by an ailing Novak Djokovic in Paris. The winner of Jack Draper vs. Mariano Navone will play Alcaraz again in the second round.
