Jake Lever and Lachie Hunter of Melbourne are set to return to selection this week. Lever has been recovering from knee surgery in May, and Hunter has been dealing with a calf injury from Round 12. High Performance Manager Selwyn Griffith reported their progress, stating Lever will fully train with the squad and Hunter will be available for VFL selection.

Christian Salem, who was subbed off in Melbourne’s win over North Melbourne, will also be available for Friday’s match against Brisbane after recovering from a knee knock. Forward Ben Brown, who missed games due to minor knee pain, is also set to return to training.

Young player Will Verrall will be sidelined due to concussion protocols following a head knock in a VFL match. Additionally, Marty Hore, Jake Melksham, Charlie Spargo, and Christian Petracca continue their rehabilitation.
