Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams have kept everyone guessing about their plans for the first round of the draft this year, marking their first Round 1 selection since 2016. They possess the flexibility to either trade down and accumulate more picks, similar to their strategy in 2019, or leverage their 11 picks to move up and target a coveted player.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah weighed in on potential scenarios, suggesting that Snead could opt to trade back, acquiring numerous Day 2 picks in Rounds 2 and 3, continuing their strategy. Alternatively, they could trade up, potentially targeting players like Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II or one of the top edge rushers.

Jeremiah highlighted the top three edge rushers as Dallas Turner, Jared Verse, and Laiatu Latu, all expected to be first-round picks, possibly within the first 20 selections. However, with an anticipated emphasis on offense in the early rounds, there’s a chance one of these edge rushers could slip to the Rams at No. 19.

He also mentioned Chop Robinson as a fourth edge rusher option for the Rams, suggesting he’s closer to the top three than some might think and could potentially be the second edge rusher off the board.

Jeremiah believes there’s a decent chance that one of these four edge rushers will be available at No. 19, and he sees it as a favorable direction for the Rams to pursue.

Overall, the Rams have a wide range of possibilities, from selecting a quarterback at 19 to trading back for a wide receiver. Peter Schrager of NFL Network even indicated a strong likelihood of the Rams prioritizing offense in the draft.
